Lankford + associates adopted and incorporated Autodesk Revit MEP® software in late 2006 to provide the capability for 3D modeling of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems. Revit MEP® utilizes a parametric change engine which creates a relationship between objects within a model.  Therefore when a designer changes any object, that change is coordinated throughout the entire project.

Revit MEP® allows for sections, elevations, and 3D views to be generated instantly, directly from a 2D environment.  Also, an automated interference check tool allows for quickly identifying conflicts between trades.  These coordination tools, along with the ability to model mechanical, plumbing and electrical components, make Revit MEP® a valuable design tool.

The 3D modeling software enables designers and clients the ability to see design implications and, as a result, provide better coordinated drawings.  Since its implementation, we have realized numerous benefits and are committed to the ongoing process of learning and utilizing the software’s extensive capabilities.
